Community News

The Hilltowns Community Resource Center, a program of Catholic Charities Tri-County Services is located in the town of Westerlo, NY and has served the communities of Berne, Knox, Westerlo, and Rensselaerville since 1981. We currently serve over 600 individuals in the Hilltowns.

The Hilltowns Community Resource Center provides assistance to low-income individuals with a variety of programs and special projects:

  • Information, referral and advocacy
  • Food Pantry, including a mobile pantry
  • Holiday Assistance: Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas
  • Back-to-School Project: School clothing and supplies
  • Emergency assistance to individuals and families experiencing a crisis
  • Satellite office for Albany County Food Stamps in-take

Amidst the challenges our world is facing today, Catholic Charities meets people where they are. Their struggles are very real and hunger is most often a symptom of a larger issue in their life such as, no transportation to get to work, a past due heating bill, or needing back-to-school clothes for growing children. Our goal is to see that no person goes hungry with a larger hope to strengthen their lives and our communities.
