Public Notice Preliminary Budget

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Preliminary Budget of the Town of Westerlo, for the fiscal year beginning Jan. 1, 2019 has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk in said Town, where it is available for inspection by any person during normal business hours. PLEASE TAKE FURTER NOTICE that the Town of Westerlo Town Board will hold five (5) Public Hearings regarding 2019 Preliminary Budget for the Town of Westerlo, Town of Westerlo Volunteer Fire Co., Westerlo Rescue Squad, as well as proposed Local Law No. 4 Commercial Solar Energy System as it pertains to decommissioning bonding and Local Law No. 5 to override the tax levy limit established in General Municipal Law 3-c. on Wed., November 14, 2018 at 6:45 PM at Westerlo Town Hall located at 933 County Route 401, in said town and any person may be heard for or against any item therein contained. A Special Town Board meeting will follow the Public Hearings for the purpose of adopting any actions on the budgets or local law. Pursuant to Section 108 of the Town Law, the proposed salaries of the following Town Officers are hereby specified as follows: Supervisor $ 15,500, Councilman (each) $3,625, Town Clerk/Tax Collector $44,340, Supt. of Highways $60,100.

Historical Society Meetings are held at the Westerlo Reformed Church Hall on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7 PM.

Veterans Photos

The Town Historian, Dennis Fancher is preparing a photo display of all veterans both living and deceased from Westerlo, South Westerlo, Dormansville and Lambs Corners.

His project will be displayed in the Historical Society tent in the Town Park during the Bicentennial celebration on September 26 and 27, 2015.

Dennis will scan your photo and return them within 24 hours.

ZRC Committee Findings

The Zoning Recommendation Committee (ZRC) was formed by the Town Board to address potential changes to the town's Zoning Law regarding impacts of high volume horizontal hydraulic fracturing (HVHF) for Shale Gas Development (SGD).
